There are two main areas to choose from - Southern and East Africa. Unless you have a lot of time, trying to fit both in, in one visit would be too much - so choose one area and focus your time there. Remember that when flying to or within Africa, a night will be needed in Johannesburg before your tour begins, likewise in Nairobi for East Africa.
